I notice a lot of the EEE clones seem to be missing a major boat-- the SSD is a big part of the appeal, because it makes the device robust, and compensates for other lackluster performance.

Looks like its finally getting some specs:

"Atom 1.6 GHz, 3 USB ports, Ethernet, Card reader, Kensington lock, Adapter socket, Mic/line-out, VGA port, screen resolution at 1280800. Scheduled to be released before the end of June 2008. It costs less than $500."

Those are great specs for a tiny PC under $500.  Of course it's probably more than $495. :P

When they hit the sub 300 market, I'll think about it.

I'm liking the screen res on this one.

i think the screen res on my eee is my second biggest complaint (the first being the useless touchpad). it would be nice to be able to see a webpage normally. i think that is why all of these mini-notes that are coming out keep getting bigger.

If only someone, besides Sony, would put some power into a 12.1 -- that isn't a d**n tablet.  I'd love to have one of those for work.  I'm thinking though, that it's only a matter of time.  I really like the propose Dell 12.1.  There's something to be said for solid state.  I'm also curious about that *nix they've got.
