Is there a way to reverse look up an email?
« on: January 18, 2007, 12:19:02 AM »

Is there a way to take an email address (a yahoo one in this case) and find out what name it was registered with?  Or maybe where they are logging in from?  I know that it is not likely the real name, but I figure it's worth a shot.

The story is there is a game I'm playing in another forum that is based on the party game werewolf, or mafia.  The "bad guys" have set up a yahoo email address for them to be contacted at, so their identities are not known.  I'm trying to see if I can reverese engineer some sort of clue as to which one of the game participants set it up at least.  And in case anyone is wondering, no this isn't cheating.  :D

Well if they are dumb then they created a Yahoo Profile too.  Go to http://profiles.yahoo.com/their_yahoo_ID to see if they made one.  It's doubtful, but worth a try.
