Wavemaster case PS tray???
« on: July 22, 2003, 04:47:03 PM »

Hey there folks. I'm workin on modding a CoolerMaster Wavemaster case and I've got a question for ya. If I take out the "tray" for the power supply, will it harm the structural integrity of the case? The power supply I have for the case mounts to the small bracket panel in the back and doesn't even touch the tray. The tray itself is attached to the case via small rivets. I wanna drill out those rivets and remove the tray altogether because it just plain looks silly and useless. Here is a pic of the internals of the case that I found on the web. Take a look at lemme know what you folks think. THANKS!!!!

Well uppon cutting an elongated octigon window on the top of the case I realized that a rail for the slide-out motherboard tray actually connects to the PS tray. I still want to reduce the ammount of tray as possible as it just plain looks ugly. I cut the top back-brace of the tray off as I was cutting the window (no...not by mistake) and so far everything seems stable. Please lemme know what you think folks. I know at least some of you have a current CoolerMaster case.  :)

EDIT....
Here is a picture of what I am talking about. Can I cut this way and still not affect the structural intregrity of the case? Lemme know folks!
