I just ordered a "tweaked gladiator" from CrazyPC. tweaked meaning they added a YStech
40cfm fan attached. could it be they just sold me a Golden Gate? sure looks like it.
same base and shroud and no thermal pad. well anyway they have it for $19 so its a deal anyway. I wonder about the shroud though.seems like it could let more air out the top without passing through the fins. think Ill test that theory after I get it installed, buy putting a little electrical tape over those side slots in the top of the shroud.

Ok, its in, artic silver on probe and cpu. Is it common for the temp to fall for the first hr or so? thought maybe the Artic silver had to settle in. Heres what I got with the 40 cfm fan. I dont have those programs to load up my cpu so I ran Unreal Tournement for 30 min with 16 bots at 200% speed in godlike mode with all skills maxed at 40 frames a sec on a real small map.(DM Fractial).1400Mhz(266 frontside bus,if that makes a dif?) The first reading was 46C. Did another 30 min...45C. I went to 1488Mgz, still 45C.Went to 1523 still 45C returned to 1400, taped up the slots at top of heatsink and ran it for 45 min. read 42C. After 6 min at idle it was down to 39c
of course I had to close UT, reboot and get a reading from bios, that took a good 6/7 sec. so temp might have dropped a degree.
