Man, wish I saw this before I spent the time wiring up the other LCD guide you guys posted :( Oh well, probably a lot cheaper then this one... too bad I have to go mount that gargantuant 20x4 one this weekend, lol.

Nice review though.

Those L.I.S. are a steal.

At that price you can manage to plug a backlit 4*40 and still have extra...

Their solution is plainly a 2*20 with a cheap daughterboard.

Ok, I must admit that its cheaper than matrix orbital, but since you're to pay big price, at least you'd get 4*20 and backlight controll via software.

Happy HD44780 guide, the CHEAP AND CUSTOMIZABLE way to have LCDs...

I wonder how come they don't end up having unexpansive ready-made LCDs????

This said: nice review guys!
all needed info about it are there... but I would reduce the rating to 7.5/10 because of the price... according we have a cheaper solution here at GT... ;)

anyway, this is my 2 cents... keep on modding your own - that's way better. :D but this is a nice EASY blue LCD.

since those two buttons are connected by 2 pin headers, one could disconnect them as use them for something else...

i mean, are you really going to be turning it off and on?

are those the standard momentary contact or are those the off/on click style buttons?
