Do they sell vinyl dye in non-aerosol form? I would like to just apply it with a sponge or brush and do fine detail work with it. If you know of anywhere that sells it in non-aerosol pots or jars let us all know.

If you wanted to make it extra glossy, can clear gloss of laquer be applied over vinyl dye?  I know if I'm ever going to paint bezels again, I'm definetly going with the dye.

Well, I know of one place that sells vinyl dye in non aerosol form, and that place is in Madison, WI.  Other than that, every place that I have seen sells it in cans.  However, you can take a small bowl or cup and spray the dye into it.  I use a q-tip and this method for touchup work.

lol, i wouldnt use a plastic cup or bowl tho! ceramic or metal should work, i used a metal pot when i put my yellow dye in one to do fine work, but then my dad showed me a trick! use one of those straw's that come on a WD-40 cans to fine spray it, lot less work too.

I painted the Keyboard and Monitor, 19" Hitachi BTW, there goes the warrantee:(, in Vinyl-Dye. Came out sweet don't you think?
It matched perfectly with the Antec case.:)

I posted this to the Anandtech forum in January. And I am very hard on the palm rest and the Vinyl Dye has not yet rubbed off Paint would never hold up!!!

My suggestion however is the Wash and dry the Parts first as it makes the dye work better. Dont sand as stated and you will be pleased, I am.

I know it said in the article that it was not meant for metal, but I'm wondering if anybody has tried, and what their experience was like...
