Dragon Orb 3
« on: August 06, 2001, 03:05:00 PM »

hey, I got one of the dragon orbs and this thing is works wonders. I love it. The last heatsink I had was a Volcano II. That one sucked. my comp was running 1ghz at 138+ F. I put the dragon orb on and now I run 1.333ghz at 121F. lovely lovely lovely. I think I can maybe get it to 1.5 or higher. Just wanted say how good this thing has been to me. hehhe

nice. Just watch it. You are still runnin ~50C which is only 2C shy of what I personally would consider a safe point. Also, if you are using the mobo sensors I found them to be off, they seem to run 2-3C colder then the actual core temp.

That 121F/49.4C under full load? I had an orb style (not Dragon) that had 24cfm and my 1.333ghz ran at 58C full load. Upgraded to a GlobalWin with a Delta 38cfm fan and temp is now 51C full load (still too hot for my likes).

are you using that vrappy black thermal pad that came with the dragon orb, if so, take that sh*t off and get some really thermal paste, that alone will drop your temps alot.
