I'm pretty sure you need the inverter (look around the site).  Its about 6 bucks also.  (1 inverter per light).  Also the lights are pretty (very from what I heard) fragile, they don't come with plexy tubes like the $40 ones.  But still 6+6+2S/S/H < 40+S/H.
Shrug, but then again I could be wrong...

ive heard they are fragile, but i was thinking the shorter ones would be a lot less fragile and i was thinking about connecting 3 of them to 1 transformer, but im not sure how that works and its only about 5 bucks for shipping with usps.
lemme know about the transformer thing?

What I've heard is that its one inverter per light, some guy tried hooking more up and said that both lights were really dim (like barly on).  I wonder if you pumped more juice into it, if it would balance it out... Probally not though...

I use cold cathodes in my case, I bought them from http://www.allelectronics.com

The inverter can power two lamps, and I think it's 12 bucks. It works great in my case. Bright and cool looking.
