Overvolt problems with PIV
« on: August 08, 2002, 07:42:00 AM »

I read somewhere that overvolting the PIV can cause it to 'weaken' and due to this you may have to drop back overclocks to much lower levels and also that over volting may kill the proc. Is this true ? I mean even small volt mods of 0.05V? Thats what the article said. Ill see if i can find the link again.

Check those two link and pls help.

Planning on buying a Prometeia supercooling solution and takking a 2.53GHz PIV to the max.

supply more voltage to anything thats not designed to handle it will weaken it.

But the main problem thats associated with overvolting your cpu is the heat that is generated.

So if I use a prometeia cooling system, there shouldn't be a problem with supplying more voltage than recommended ? within limits ofcourse.
