would work depending on air flow pretty well I don't know if condensation would be an issue, prolly not, but you never know

well, I was thinking the same thing, except air conditioners take moisture out of the air... thats how they work.... and since the his case temp would also be lowered there wouldn't be risk of condensation.  besides, have you ever seen your registers (if you have central air) have condensation on them, i haven't...

Condensation shouldn't really be a factor, unless the AC unit is an evaporating type (ie. swamp cooler systems).

I've seen systems jammed into refidgerators, but they (the guys who built it) said that condensation only occurs if and when the fridge is shut off.  Same thing might happen with AC cooled systems when they are shut off, since the components might be well below 0 degrees.

With some of the AC units around here, I'm betting that they could get to 0 degrees easily, especially if AC unit is blowing straight into a case.  With nothing else to cool (ie. a room) it will make that baby cold.

cold maybe, 0 I don't think so....

plus all you would have to do is a little test just hookup the system to your empty case let it run, if there is condenstation, ice crystals forming, then you might wanna cut down the supply...  other wise it sounds like a good idea.

On a smaller scale what about using one of those Peltiers on the intake. Just wire up something like a peltier/hs/fan combo and slap that in the front of that case. Wouldent that cool the intake air like an AC until would? I would think that would be a little bit smaller then a window AC until sitting in front of your puter, plus a little quieter.

I can picture someone goin to a LAN party and lugging an AC until into the room. Man, that would have me rollin on the floor :)

hte problem with putting a peltier in your case is that it does condensate....
