I love the case, what can I say?

I bought one on Saturday and called the guys up in North Carolina this monring (Monday)  Turns out the guy showed up at 5am only to see 650+ orders that he got over the weekend.  They are selling like hotcakes folks.  I'm pretty stoked.  Becasue the olny fab them, don't assemble them, they are pumping out an average of 80 a day.  He expected my order to be shipped on August 12/13th.

So I purchased a Clear/Blue case.  I'll get 4 Blue LED fans and a single Rainbow fan for the side panel.  I'm waiting for a GigaByte SiS648 Mobo which will be blue PCB, and I want to get a Triplex Ti4200 64mb vid card with a Silver PCB.  I's also get a Pentium 4 2.2Ghz 533 processor, and overclock it to whereever it wants to go.  I think it should look pretty sweet...and run pretty quick.

Ok, so I think there is one thing that people are forgetting about when it comes to a clear case...something that we all consider a nuisance with our own cases, but live with it because no one ever looks in.  And that is dust!  This box has 5 80" fan holes.  That's 5 fans I'll be buying.

I expect to be moving a lot of air through my case.  Now I don't live in a particularly dusty area (Palo Alto, CA) but I certainly dont live in a clean room environment.  So I have my pimped out case for a few months and I'm stoked about it.  But then the dust comes....and I'm sure it will.  I had a link for some mettalic fan filters and I'm away from my computer or I'd post the link.  Anyway, I'm very concerned about dust, and I hope a filter will fix my problem...though I know its gonna be a real issue.

Perhaps there are some sort of static gaurd 3M prodct that you could spray on a surface that would repel dust.  Wouldn't it just need an opposing electrical charge?  Spray that on all side and top interior surfaces and leave the bottom alone...a place for the dust to settle.  Then take a washcloth and wipe that dust out.  Maybe I'm full of wishful thinking.  Let me know what you think?

Uggh, how the internet works.  I was going to go to Frys, get a $50 case, and be done wtih it.  Now I expect to spend somewhere around $350 on my case.  Well...atleast I'm putting money back into the economy and that sorta makes me feel good.

as for dust repellant, weve got a spray at work, i think its just corn oil, but ill try and find out, and it does a good job of repelling staticly charged dust from a sheet of plexi.

might want to do a google search on 'plastic dust repellants' or something along those lines, im sure theyre avaliable.
