How were the backlight LEDs actually positioned?  Are they pointed on the glass of the screen or right behind it?  I might get some of those backlight LEDs and make my project a little better.

Ok, sorry I havn't responded sooner I have been out sick since Thursday. I hope to answer everybodys questions.

Top: I don't have any left. I gave two to a coworker and the other two are for another project.

X24: The Leds are lit on one side. One is positioned on each side of the glass so the two leds are pointing at each other. The screen is not back lit like some LCD screens.

Driphter: Yes you could. I have seen it done somewhere here on the net, I can't remember where. It can easly be done. Use 3mm leds and just bend them in a way so they point back through the screen. But I didn't like the way it came out. I'm just anal that way.

I tried doing that with some 5mm and 3mm LEDs but they only lighted a small part of the screen.  Maybe Backlight LEDs have a certain way they shed light.  Thanks.
