hey, I like that sunbeam kit but i do have a couple quirks that makes me feel this isnt exactly a fair comparison to other kits. (sorry to complain lol)
I would like to see the sunbeam CCFL lights outside of the striped tube, although the striped tube makes it easier to distinguish which is which, from my experience the tubes are usually clearly labeled from the dealer which color it is.

The obvious reason i want to see the light outside of the striped tube is i think that there may be some color change given by the stripes, maybe not much but its not really a fair comparison when a competing CCFL is in a totally clear tube when the other is in a striped or completely colored tube.  Just my opinion though.

Otherwise the kit looks slick i'll have to admit that.

I just bought the kit and im not very satisfied the uv  tubes did not make my glow drive cables as brightly as the rest of the balck lights in my room. if i shine my four foot black light on my comp even with the green cold cathode in my case on the glow cables still grow very brightly but not with the two uv cold cathodes in =( so i just bought two uv tubes from zxmods.com hopfully those will work better

black lights that come in fluorescent tubes are completely differant from CCFL UV. I was talking to a reseller of CCFL's and they think that CCFL UV's are UV White and not UV black.


I don't know much about UV in general, so if you or someone else wants to explain it that would be cool.

well then what do u recommend to get my glow cables to glow really bright i just order those other  tubes from zxmods i guess that was a waste of 30 dollars should  what do u think will work well in my case to get those things really glowing

you can help the "glowing" effect buy using UV reactive chemicals like conformal spray. Ive seen a very bright case from 1 12inch CCFL but that was because everything was coated.

Are all of the CCFL kits at directron made by Sunbeam Tech? both the single and double models?

not that I am aware of.  They are seperated last time i looked.
