it has to deal with the wavelengths of the light....

I think they can focus it more precisely and accurately and thus cram more info onto a disc...

Or used the crystle technology. Bill gate talks about it like a year ago. Use a peice of crystle and write data into it.. that was the easy part, they trying to get the data out, that was the harder part. If I remember correct, it hold 3-4 Terabytes.
