ipod touch 32 gb 3G
« on: January 02, 2011, 05:52:51 PM »

I just purchased an ipod touch 3G.  When plugged into the front panel USB ports on my computer, the ipod is not recognized.  It does not show up in My Computer or itunes.  In system manager, all the USB drivers appear to be functioning properly.  Should I reinstall my USB drivers?  When I plug into the ports on the back, the ipod is recognized, but it can only synchronise about 300 songs or so without losing the connection and cancelling the synch.

Do you think something is up with my USB connection?

Thanks for the help
Jeff

Do you have a spare sync cable? I've had issues in the past with the older style sync cables (the ones that have a mechanical locking mechanism) wearing out on me

Heh, I'm on my iPod right now, feels strange...

Turns out I needed to uninstall all my USB drivers and reboot. Winxp then autodetected the drivers again. It was apple mobile device driver causing the problem, and after detecting the USB drivers again, my comp could detect my iPod. Now I just synched 24 gb of music and good to go.
