Hello everyone,

I have a weird issue where I have many green flickering pixels at certain locations on my monitor. I've notice these pixels in every scenario including gaming/video/pics. The funny thing is the pixels are gone when I lower the res to anything lower then 1600 x something and they only appear in light colored areas. For example if I set my wallpaper to black no more pixels even at my native res of 1680 x 1050 ??? The issue occurs in both Win XP and Win 7. I removed the nvidia drivers and install the latest and older ones on both OSes but no luck. The green pixels are still there.

Win XP Pro nvidia driver is 182.08
Win 7 Ultimate 32 nvidia driver is 197.45
Vidcard is a EVGA GTX 260 SC

Has anyone come across this issue or something similar?

if its the actual pixels, then it should be strictly a hardware based issue.

IE - your monitor is going the way of the Dodo.

How old is the monitor?

How's the temp on your video card? Possible overheat or oc anomalies?

My monitor is an Acer AL2223w its about 3 - 3 1/2 yrs old. As for the video card it usually idles at 53/54c and in gaming I always bump up the fan speed to about 75% so it has never gone over 70c and it is always very hot and humid here in the caribbean.

I do have access to another 22" monitor, I'll have to try it out tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice
