Bootable PXE
« on: March 30, 2010, 03:47:00 PM »

Ok the best way to put this is that I have a system that has no other way to reinstall windows apart from LAN (USB is shot and the 1.0 port just fails)

How can I install UBUNTU \ WINDOW via LAN?
Is there any known boot discs that will help or some links to read as some of the things I have googled are making it harder than it should be.

Couldn't you grab a CD drive and plug it into the motherboard directly? That's what I would do. If you're out of IDE / SATA slots, you could just unplug one drive temporarily. Unless it's a laptop and **** isn't helpful. In that case, I am no help.

You can even boot XP from floppies.
