I used to never buy a motherboard that didn't have an nforce chipset. Now what will I do?

Now what will I do?

Buy something else.  Intel and AMD have been making competent chipsets for quite a while now.

While I haven't tried AMD's offerings, I can say what you said about Intel is a lie I won't stand for.

Good.

Frankly, I never felt like the nForce was the best of breed.

I loved the ULI 1695, poor loser of the game.

I don't feel that much of a difference in the high end chipsets among the three, but in lower end ones, AMD is definitely the one to beat, with its halfway decent onboard graphics.

It could have been a good or bad chipset, but this is bad news, think about prices. :)

That's sort of what I was thinking.
