Data solutions
« on: February 23, 2009, 04:52:13 AM »

Hey guys

I'm looking for a decent way to backup all my data.  I would like a networked external hard drive, where all my data is replicated from my internal disk, and have it automatically update when i update my files on the internal hard drive.

I'm looking for a cheap option for this, so something like the http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=587

has anyone had any experience with the backup software for this drive?
or is there better software i can use in conjunction with an OEM ethernet enclosure?

That's a decent one- just stick to the biggies, WD, Seagate, etc.  They'll have good basic backup software.  Probably something like Retrospect.  I'm actually in the market for something like this also to store all my photos and stuff.

I just bought the 1.5TB Seagate Free Agent.  With the software that's included, you can schedule backups/syncs to whatever folders you specify at the time(s) you specify.
