GoW Paint job
« on: December 11, 2008, 12:33:20 PM »

Last year I got a case from NXZT, to do a review on. I been using the case as a file server and linux test system since the review. I been wanting to do something with any of the cases I had in my apt. Now my work shop of last year is no more since I moved and getting time to do things as the kid gets older and work keeping me busy. I thought about how much money I put in past projects and starting budgeting to see if I could work on this one.

as time being the biggest issue and not having all of the equipment that I had in the past. I went with keeping the case looking the same and had it painted my Smoothcreations. They have gone from just painting cases to building desktops and laptops. They still paint cases but need a high detailed image, I had gotten a poster quality image of Gears of War.

Now my case is back in my hands and on both sides of the case has been painted

The front of the case where it had the brush aluminum is now all black.

Now I know this not considered a real mod since i didnt do the work myself, but since I had the money and would have spent close to the same doing it myself and not looking anyware close.

I do want to do more but right now I have this back up and running.

Looks like actual airbrushing.  A while back I was looking into Smoothcreations to do some work for myself.  Very impressive.

I think it was some sort of transfer they used. I can see small lines like something was layed down on the case with the image.

my guess they used some type of thin vinle or transparent film to get the image on the case and had a matching black paint that they covered the rest of the case with, so it all matched and they also painted the front cover after removing the aluminum. then users a thin coat of clear coat for a nice shine and to protect it.

the image that I sent them was a larger version on this one.

Orgnial is 7542 x 8428 and is almost 6.5gb in size

Edit:
The way I was able to see the lines was looking really close to it and seeing a textured differance.

I went to their website and I really, really love that silver case with the swimming girl and the blue lighting.
Your gears one looks really good too. Where did you get such a large image of that? Did you scan it from something?
