Coax Terminator
« on: September 19, 2008, 02:10:13 PM »

Over the course of the day I have been working to improve my houses coax network. I now have a crystal clear picture on every TV and my cable modem is now getting a signal well within specs. The only thing I have left to solve is the termination of the unused taps on my two splitters.

I would rather not pay anywhere from 7 to 10 bucks for a pack of terminators, so being the modder that I am, I started reading.

If I understand what I have read on several sites, all the terminator is, is a 75 ohm 1/2w resistor connected across the center conductor and the shielding. Am I correct?

Well, the Coax fun is over. I've managed to get everything to work without having to use any terminators. If anyone is interested in reading my journey, and would like to suggest any improvements here is a link to the thread in the DSL Reports W.O.W forum
