So... um... today I finally got the nerve to give soldering a 2nd chance. It went quite well actually
Now the Xbox linux quest continues...
Then I went on to flash cromwell onto my DuoX 2 GS. I flashed the wrong size image not once, but twice! The raincoat program properly detected the TSOP as a 1mb AMD, but I forgot it was partitioned into two banks
I flashed the 1mb cromwell image to bank one and it failed 50% through, so I figured "hmm... i'll try bank two" and then stupidly flashed the 1mb image to the 2nd bank.
Shortly I noticed the system gave me the christmas lights on both banks I realized my folly. I should have flashed the smaller image... Now it refuses to boot with or without the chip in.
I also know what I need to fix it, another DuoX 2 GS... But that is another 20 so bucks off to a random shop in Thailand.
Does anyone know of a cheaper way to fix this?
