ga p35 d3sl northbridge heat
« on: May 23, 2008, 10:07:50 AM »

I have a ga p35 d3sl with an e8400 and an a freezer pro 7. I'm not sure but i believe my northbridge is overheating. Only a few mins of it being on the heatsink gets really hot!. I mean really hot so much so that i can only touch it briefly before having to remove my finger. I was wondering if anybody with this board has this problem and what is the normal/ safe operating temperature of the northbridge(P35).  I'm thinking i might have to reapply the thermal paste and add a fan to it.

Any input is welcomed!

Thanks... I added a 40mm fan to it now its just slightly warm to the touch ( a huge improvement). How are you monitoring your temps?

I have a laser thermometer that I used to find out the temp. typical I am more concerned with the CPU heat and have used Coretemp to keep track of that.
