Need a good 775 intel heatsink!!
« on: May 01, 2008, 09:53:51 PM »

Hey guys,

I looking to get a good 775 hsf for an E8400 and a GA-P35 DS3L mainboard. I looking for the best cooling possible for under $60. As long as it is compatible with the mainbord (clearance for nb cooler/ram slots etc.) I'm looking at both copper and aluminum. If anyone out there is using a similar setup and has any good cooler recommendations please reply!!

Thanx

The Cooler Master GeminiII is a surprising disappointment unless you can get it dirt-cheap, but it is basically silent with a quiet 120mm PWM fan, so I still use it over stock.  It benefits noticably from lapping.

I have an E6750, a P35-DS3L, and the Gemini II with an Arctic Cooling AF12025PWM fan.  The 6750's been as high as 3.36GHz without failing in a wPrime test (~10 minutes, I'm just doing it for the HWBot rank :) )

Scythe mini (E6400) does a great job as well as the Zalman 9700LED (E6750 running at 3.4ghz)

Masscool 8WA741 92mm

I've got several of these running in various computers and really like them.  Cheap, quiet, and does a good job.
