Fan location
« on: February 11, 2008, 06:02:31 PM »

I'm designing a new case for a "top secret" project and I was just wondering what the most efficient fan setup would be. I'm looking to use a max of 2 80mm fans. My original plan was to just put the fans in a line across from each other but I'm not sure of how great the cooling will be.   The case won't be all that big...haven't planned out the full dimensions yet but around  7 1/2" x 8" give or take a few inches.  Attached are the two ideas that I have so far.

I would recomend one 80mm as low as possible on the front bezel, and one as close to the bottom of the psu on the rear panel

thats generally the way cases do it, and i've noticed it works just fine, depending on layout. i love my antec lanboy that does it that way.

Well, it provides a nice air flow both direction-wise and temp efficiency-wise

Sorry, no go on the front or rear. I have big plans for the front and back.  So with those restrictions imposed I suppose the best route would be to just rotate it to the sides and keep them lined up with intake on the bottom and exhaust more towards the top. This is a really small case so It might even work out to just have them lined up.  Thanks urgannagru and Maxamus...
