Compuvest.com and opinions?
« on: December 20, 2007, 11:22:40 PM »

I was about to buy 2 74gb WD Raptor @ $100/each from them but before I did it I read a bunch of reviews from online sites and didnt like what I saw. It really sucks because Newegg ran out of the 36gb Raptor's and I really dont want to spend $300 on 74gb or 150gb Raptors. Does anyone have any previos experience with Compuvest?

Yea, makes me think twice about using my cc with them.

I saw that Newegg had an open box Raptor 150gb going for about $115 but ive never purchased an open box item through them and wouldnt know what to expect if it was defective. I read their return policy and as I am understanding it its a 15 day return or end user is responsible for repair/replacement at his/her own cost.

The way I look at it is, you got a 50/50 chance of getting completely screwed.

Those odds aren't like 50/50 chance of winning it big... which would be good. The best outcome is you get what you ordered like you would anywhere else.. no big win.

So weigh it out.. are you really that much of a cheap ass to risk it?
