Review: CIRAGO Bluetooth BTA-3210 EDR

Quote
Cirago sent me their micro USB Bluetooth dongle to take a quick peek at. When I first got the information on this I just thought this will probably be the smallest USB device I will ever use. Knowing that Bluetooth devices are becoming more and more popular and useful, I thought I'd give this adapter a try. We'll see how it manages in a house crowded with wireless signals.

I know I'm kinda looking for summat like that for my laptop but I'm a bit worried about that shielding that comes off...

Yeah, that cost the product some points in our scoring.

Sorry for the necropost but thought of letting you guys know that I did finally get this adapter! It's the exact same version/model # but slightly different product! i.e., the housing isn't coming off! It came in the same exact retail packaging, too. Anyway, just thought you might want to know. ;)

Here's a fuzzy photo taken off my smartphone:

The bluetooth adapter is the one on the left; that one on the right is my "nano receiver" for my logitech laser mouse.

Another view with the blue blinky light on:

Driver installation was a breeze and it found my smartphone with no probs. Then again, my smartphone doesn't do much (I rather preferred my old Ericsson mobile phone -- when I connected that via bluetooth to my friend's laptop, I was able to control his mouse cursor via phone buttons! :D) I'll be using this with my bluetooth headset, though so no worries about not being able to control my machine with my mobile. :)

ha, i had forgotten about this review, or even that i commented on it previously. yup, i have one too and love it. it works flawlessly with my eeePC + cellphone (k850i) for tethering to the 3g. i can't say that mine has ever had its housing fall off though.

Unless you have a limo I don't think that could be an issue.  Bluetooth range in general is rated at 30m.  Even if this is 1/10th of that you still are at 3m, more than enough for a car.
