SLI + Fanless = ?
« on: September 05, 2007, 10:49:58 PM »

I have a passively cooled video card, and I was thinking about going dual cards + SLI so I could have 4 LCDs rather than just 2, but then I realized I have a passively cooled card.

Will having 2 passively cooled 8600s in the same case cause a heat problem? I have 4x120mm casefans in there, so I would hope not, but I figured I should ask first.

So long as you keep the air moving around them and out the back, no.  If the air is stagnant, especially between the two cards, then you will have problems.

That was pretty much my hunch, which its good to confirm, but I was curious if anyone here has tried it and if its worked out for them
