[Contest] Build A SFF Case
« on: July 02, 2007, 03:19:22 PM »

Link to contest :

Quite simply, build a SFF case. It can be made out of any material you want, in any style / shape / colour etc, however it MUST adhere to the rules set below!
Entries will be judged on Features, Style and Budget. May the best mod win!

The Rules

      • The competition HAS STARTED and will finish at 23.59 on SUNDAY 12th of AUGUST.

      • The case must fit the following components: a MicroATX or ATX motherboard, a PCI-E, AGP or PCI graphics card (half or full height are allowed), at least one hard drive, one CD/DVD drive (laptop drives are accepted) and a PSU (MicroATX or ATX). External enclosures are allowed for hard drives and/or DVD drives but they must be custom made also.

      • We recommend a limit of £50 for the entire custom case and all material costs, etc must be accounted for in the worklog. The amount spent (over/under) will be taken into account when the cases are judged, although features, looks and style are more important. You don’t have to be rich to take part!

      • Size limit has been decided by comparing other SFF cases available. 40cm Wide x 40cm Deep x 30cm high. This is a MAXIMUM size.

      • Modding existing items is fine BUT they have to be non - computer related (so you dont go out and buy a SFF case and use that) and fit within the size limits set above. If you are unsure of the item check via PM.

      • The case must actually be MADE, this is not a design competition! Photos will be required, hopefully you all have camera’s even if they are on your phone’s.

      • NOTE: You do NOT have to have the components to compete! The competition is to build the case, NOT a working PC! With this in mind all entrants will receive some pdf documents with diagrams so you can have life size cardboard cutouts. We ask that photo’s have a ruler or tape measure so that we can ensure sizes are correct.

      • To prevent copying once you have started your work we need each entrant to send a PM to Comp_ideas giving details of your ideas, if you change your design drastically during the compo you will need to send another PM.

      • A worklog will need to be kept (for judging purposes) and submitted via email to Comp_ideas when the competition is over. These will need to have been submitted by 23.59 WEDNESDAY 15th of AUGUST with the winner being announced soon after. You will also need to detail where your budget was spent (if at all).

      • Your worklog’s will be posted in the Modding section of CPCFF AFTER the winner has been announced.

Now live in the Twin cities.
