buying cpu need help
« on: April 18, 2007, 10:56:20 PM »

Hello all, new to the site. I am looking for a good (inexpensive) gaming cpu. Any good online retailers out there (USA only)? Glad I found this site, I was looking at buying from Zio...not anymore! Also looked at: Cyberpower, Maingear (too expensive for my budget, but sounds like a good company).
Thanks for the help.

I assume by CPU you actually mean that you want to buy a computer and not just a CPU (processor)?  Asking about that instead would be a good start.

should have been more informative. Looking to buy a complete system AMD or Intel (advice on these would be appreciated also...pro/cons).

I see our efforts have proved to be effective. We've prevented polyspots from getting taken.

Back on topic, what kind of budget are you looking at?

Right now the Core 2 Duo are the best bang for the buck (AMD new release should be out some time next week).
2 gigs of ram is what you would want.
decent video card 8600 are out if you dont want top of the line but DX10 ready. (R600 core should be out next week if you like ATI)
