Widescreen deals at Dell
« on: November 18, 2006, 05:21:00 PM »

3007WFP for $1274, 2407WFP for $679, 2007WFP for $339, and E207WFP for $246.

I'd decided a couple weeks ago I was going to get a 2007WFP, so I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

Oh yeah, and free shipping.

Dell LCD are always been very good .. Now anything 20" or lower Viewsonic is giving them a run for there money. But dell sill owns for anything larger.

I ordered a 2007WFP.

I considered some others, but the Dell has many features that make it worthwhile IMO. The multitude of inputs, the incredibly adjustable stand, things like aspect preservation and hdcp, etc. That plus the fact that I'm very happy with my 1907FP made the Dell a fairly easy choice.

Turns out with the 2007WFP you can get either an S-PVA or S-IPS panel. I ended up with the S-PVA, and am very unhappy with it. Backlight bleed in the four corners, and really bad color shift. Solid colors on things like forums look more like gradients, it drives me crazy. Anyone have experience sending stuff back to Dell? Can I get a full refund or will I have to pay a restocking fee?

Swaps with Dell are pretty easy. They pay for both ways overnight.

Or, get a full refund within the 30 days.

I've heard you can swap as many times as you want, but at this point I don't even care. I read something by a guy that swapped 8 times before he got a monitor he was happy with. I'd rather just take the money and know what panel I'm going to get.

Thanks though, good to know I can get a full refund.
