yes this one heavy piece of machinery, but its sooo loud, anyone knows how to make it more quiet?

you could reduce the voltage you are giving the fan, from 12 to 7 volts, by adding in a resister.

You could wire in a rheostat so you can tune it down when surfing and let it run full blast when you're fraggin at the lan.

harmonic vibrations contribute to noise in a case. the mb and case act like an speaker for them. Im playing with the idea of damping the vibrations with foam pads under the case and maybe a foam gasket between the fan and heatsink. Ill let you know how it turns out.

even tho WS's idea of a resistor is best, you could always just wire it as 7volts instead of 12 by using the +5vdc wire instead of the black ground wire.  btw, a rheo is a risk for hsf cooling because you could accidentally turn it down to low to cool and burn up a chip

yea, i wouldn't rheo it, but if you do, make sure when you turn it all they way done the hsf is still running, that would be a good range...i still need to find rheo's that will handle these huge ass 120mm delta's..
