NextSensor (hardware monitoring) was a real surprise-- it shows several sensor values my BIOS misses, and it may be the ONE programme ever written with a configuration for a 939SLI32 out of the box :D

If you have vista, get Pidglet.

Since I switched to Vista, I've had a Pidgin buddy-list dragged into the sidebar area.  Half the time, it's actually UNDER the sidebar, so it doesn't work well.  Pidglet just gives a real side-bar application that does the basic buddy list thing, and leaves the real list hiding in a tray icon.
