When the mains are connected the batteries will be charging, but there will be a seperate charging curcuit. So the Relay will disconnect the batts from the CPU and connect them to the charge at the same time switching the CPU to the 12V from the AC power pack. Does this make sense?

Kind of, but I can't help ask "why switch at all?" If the charger can dump enough current to run the box while also charging the batteries, why not run it like a car battery where the battery gets charged "in-system?"

After all, one of the features of the snazzy PSU is to be tolerant of higher input voltages. Let's make use of that. So no separate charger, and no switch. It's the simplest plan I can think of.

Most chargers are notorious for being noisey....But if the PSU can handle the noise that sounds good to me...KISS!

I'm a bit upset it's been 2 weeks since I sent an e-mail to mini-box and still no reply on this.

Anyone got any Ideas on how to get them to talk to me?

minibox is owned by Ituner Networks Corp. and their phone number is 1-510-226-6033
minibox itself doesn't appear to have a contact number, so I'd try that one.  If you're not above a few white lies, you may get further by giving the impression you are interested in the information as a value-added reseller looking to place a (large) order.

Yeah, just tell them that your droid army needs to be delivered to the buyers soon or really bad things could happen.

And it needs to be done before the Clones are done.
