The biggest hindrance will be the 64k address space of the 6502 proc in those beasts.

Although IIs were equipped with 128k often, it was largely smoke-and-mirrors and paging tricks to exploit it well.  The IIgs had a 65816, with an 8M or possibly 16M memory limit, and a better chance of it working.

It's 64k, minus overhead of a few k for firmware and system bits.... means you've got some work coming

I gave away a PC this year my church. They had one crash and I replaced it with one of my old machines.

P3 1.3 Gig
Gforce 3 Video
512 Megs Ram (ECC)
60 Gig HD

It should be a small tax write off next year :)
