NEC LCD Panel question
« on: December 04, 2004, 01:21:36 AM »

Hello,
I just recently removed an LCD from a WinbookFX (not even sure if the lcd works... cuz i think the mobo is dead)

anyway,
its an NEC 8060BC31-02 12.1" TFT LCD panel.
max res of 800*600
anyone know where i could find a controller to plug this into a standard VGA card, and possibly an inverter?

All i found on google was lists, newgroup questions q/o ansers and lots of fake search engines.

Any help would be wonderful. i'm using the parts of this to try to build a carputer.

let it go. this is a worn out topic.  no-one to my knowledge has gone though the effort (at least on GT) to hunt down a special controller and paid for it.  good luck, but not many people re going to help you because it's nearly impossible.  i would like to be proven wrong though...

Actually, there is a pretty good thread about this over on BT (bit-tech.net). There is a way to use an older graphics card with a certain type of connector to do it. Apparently, even after you get it all setup and done it's still not really worth it but if you want to try there is a good thread there. This connector isn't found on any modern cards and im not sure it's even on pci video cards but it appeared on some ISA cards. Good luck, if you try it make sure to take pictures.
