Massworks ID-75 Touch Screen LCD

finding a good color lcd isn't the expensive part.  there is post on here about composite (tv out)5.6" LCDs for $129 or $89 (non TFT).  The expensive part is the touchscreen glass which runs about $200... http://www.earthlcd.com/touch.htm (the only place I have been able to find in a short period of time)

I plan on using the ID-75 to be the interface for a computer I'm building in my car.  one of the screens from "winterOS" shows the systems information screen from my program.  The main tasks is to interface with winamp (more like browse m3u files and open winamp with the selected one) and to interface with a program called street atlas 9, which will handle on-board navigation.

Since this is all I'm pretty much doing I don't need the high bandwidth that other LCD solutions have to offer and the usb will work just fine (I'm not going to be watching any dvd movies in my car.)

That would bre great WS.  Being a touch-screen interface, that won't be that much of a driving distraction.

It sounds like a great product.  I could see it being usefull in JK2 and RA2 if the layout is done correctly.

im making my first mod case right now.  i wanted to put a color lcd screen on the front,  i didnt even think to use touch screen.  i dont really want to use it as a second monitor but as a control panel, for winamp and such.  id prolly think of other uses.  my questions are: 1.how big is everything if you took it out of its case to install it in something (like the front of a tower(i'm not trying to stick it in a few bays))and 2. how much power does it need (i would want to power it with molex from my psu).  i would also like someone's opinion on how useful it would be on the front of a case, whould it be impressive enuf to be worht paying 300 for the front of my case?

Two things that would make this thing really rock :)
1: Linux/xBSD/XF86 support, I really would like to run this thing on one of the cases I'm working on.. but since I don't run winXxx.. well...
2: USB 2.0 for greater speed

I just got mines today and after playing with it for a while it is usefull but only in RTS that I have found.  FPS it lacks behind to much those critical seconds of moving your hand off the keyboard coasts a lot!
