Alpha Cooler and New Athlon

K, i have a spare Alpha PAL6035 V2 Ultra (w/ the black label delta!) and i was wondering if it can handle my new 1.4gh athlon...

it looks a bit wimpy in comparison to some of the competition, it worked fine on my old celery, but that was literally half the clock speed...

nah, if they don't like it put the box fan on their side of the room... that what I did to my old roomate, and he stopped complaining.

hehe, i've been IMing w/ mine and i get the feeling that he won't mind =)

i'm comp sci, and he's comp engineering, and everybody on campus plays counter-strike, so whatever lowers framerate and local lag is fair game ;)

argv...

just got the thing up (finally), and i let it sit for 15 mins in the bios, and it was at 45... let it cool down and showed signs of going up (i shut 'er down once she got to 46)

gonna put some as2 on it, and see, but once i get started in school and get some paychecks (that i'm owed...) i'll get the swiftec, probably...

yeh

i don't plan to put it on my vid card, tho ?!?!?

and a friend agreed w/ me, the soyo dragon has a ton of clearance on one side, and a little skimmp on the ram side... but the 462 should fit....

then again, i can always mess around w/ water cooling ;)
