Simple LED remote

I am trying to find a way to build a remote controlled switch that will turn on a single LED. I need it to be battery powered and the LED won't stay on very long so battery life isn't a big deal. The remote/switch can be either IR or RF, doesn't matter.

Anyone have suggestions or willing do draw a diagram for me?

Pick up a wireless doorbell kit at any hardware or home improvement store.  Rip it apart, desolder the ringer on the part that goes inside, figure out what voltage it puts out when pressed using a multimeter, then solder the LED and the correct resistor (assuming you need one) where the ringer was, press the doorbell to light the LED.
