all rite guys, i hope ur still lookin at this page since its almost 2 months old, but could somebody take a picture of the bottom of their ir reciever if you did it to the specs of gideontech??  ive got everything in place to solder, but im not exactly sure how all the wires are supposed to be connected.  im just now getting into electronics, and would appreciate it very much!!:D

I made mine!
Thanks to Cranberry for sending me the IR receivers. ;)

I'm using my old JVC VCR's remote control.

WinLirc is a NIGHTMARE!
I got lot's of problems with it, buttons that couldn't be recognized.

Girder is good but yet not what I wanted.
I got it working with WinLirc and Igor.
Buttons were detected but then when I pressed a button it recognized it as another button... more headaches... moving to next soft.

uICE, simply the best.
I just had to read a lil bit, it's easy, it detected all my remote control's buttons and it didn't get confused about which button you're pressing.

As this is my first post in here I would like to say hello and congratulation for this sweet board.
Now, I've tried Snow Veil's scheme to add an activity led but it's lit all the time.
The circuit is working and when I press on my remote the led seems to change its intensity.
Any ideas?
