just wondering why my p4 2.6c idles at 35 celsius ???
« on: December 10, 2003, 11:20:52 PM »

I was just wondering if my chip is faulty or is just a bad one, it seems to idle at 33 or 35 and seems a little high compared to other chips of its type. Just a few weeks ago it was idling at 27 which i was quite happy with   :D  but recently jumped up higher. When it becomes under full load it jumps up dramatically (in a matter of seconds) to 45 celsius. Just wondering whether there is something wrong!   By the way, i have adequate cooling with 5 case fans and the stock HSF which isn't upposed to be too bad. My chip was manufactured in Malaysia.

                                                       Thanks

35C is about right for that chip.  Provided you are using the stock HSF combo.
