1/4 watt or 1/2 watt

ok so i looked in the sticky topic about resistors didnt find the answer to my question so i guess ill post a topic.i   got some resitors from a friend, he dosent know if they are 1/4 or 1/2 watt, there of a fatter appearance (spelling), is there a general rule that fatter is 1/2. thanks

1/2W resistors are a lil bit fatter than 1/4W.
