I bought this VFD above, and was wondering if I could hook it up to serial? Serial is only like 1 wire, which would be ideal for where it's going to go. Can someone tell me which pin (if any) can hook up to serial?

1 more, thing, it seems to have 2 different places to power it, 1 is like a 3 pin fan header, can I just use that source for power, and not the VCC with the 16 pins?

Here is an image of it

There's only one place to power it.  The spec sheet is clear on that.  And it CAN be run on serial.  Maybe viridius can help with the pin-outs.

Pewter and i7dude helped me. We think SIN/TEST is the serial pin. SIN = Serial INput.

Also, about the power, I was also refering to the VCC 5c plugs, they're on the IC pins. Pewter also helped me with that.

sounds about right to me. you probably also want to hook it up to DB-3 on your serial port. do you have plans for some sort of software to drive it?
