Having put a UV LED in a mouse. It is limited to being used only on a UV surface (White). Yes the mouse looks sweet with the UV Glow. But Mousing is an issue.

That's why I say use an IR and a UV LED together.  UV glow, superior invisible IR tracking.

Hey, I just changed my mouse LED to blue (from red) and the tracking seems to be the same.  It looks a ton nicer now though.  I'll take a pic in a few mins.  It's an awesome mouse.

I chanaged mine to green. Works fine, I disabled the on/ off part by using the 5V line directly and increased the brightness by using an array of three 7,000 mC LEDs. I found my mouse is much more responsive as well as much cooler. I want to try an IR and put it on a switch, since I don't always want a glowing green mouse (such as when I try to go to sleep). Anybody try an IR yet.
