Modding Colc Cathode Inverters
« on: September 03, 2003, 10:28:09 AM »

I currently have 5 Cold Cathode fans in my case, each of which has an inverter. I also have another inverter for my two UV CCs. I still want to add one more inverter to add two blue CCs, but have yet to do so since there are so many inverters sitting in my case right now. I wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to make a customized inverter that could power all of my CCs. I found that I can usually combine two inverter boards into one box, but that still only helps a bit.

You'd have to make an oscillator and find a transformer that could step up the voltage to the level that CCFLs take while providing enough current.  Doable, but you'd have a much easier time just getting all the inverters separately.  Maybe you can find a 5 output CCFL inverter.

i think they sell multiple cc invertoers, becasue the dual cc's have only one inverter.  just google for it and you mightfind some inverters that can hande more than 2 cc's
