High level sound to low level sound
« on: September 03, 2003, 09:38:20 AM »

Anybody know of a simple way of reducing high power sound coming out of a 50w peak amp to a low level input pls?  The circuits that I found are fairly complicated and I do not like the idea of using resistors.  Anyone knows of a "decent" circuit please?

hmm.. think so but just like the modding scenario it would be nice to have a "modded" converter

How about a step down transformer?

would it be just any step down trans or must it has something special? Also, what must be the winding ratio?  Thanks, I think I might just go with that you idea, thanks viridius

Most of the audio transfomers you'll find aren't the highest quality as far as frequency response, but they make 'em in a 5:1 ratio that might work.  They're pretty low power though, so you may have to go with one of the circuits you found.

Ok, thanks, I will try and see if my local electronics shop suggests something (he usually does), but thanks again
