OK, back on topic, I recommend a 0.01 uF capacitor if you plan on actually touching the pad.  More if there is an insulating material between the pad and your finger.  Like 0.1 uF.  Just to clear things up, BalefireX and I don't hate each other, it's all in good fun.  And I only take the 7mm Rem Mag out on weekends.

my qt110's arrived today.... was eager to build something this weekend, until i realised that i ordered the surface mounted version by mistake... the pins out of the IC a tiny... well beyond my soldering skills... have contacted farnell's to see if the will swap them for me... :(

Ah yes, SMD.  I tried to solder that before and it was not fun.  Some German mod site has a hot-air iron that they use, but it's way out of my price range.  Remember to use a 0.1 uF capacitor across the power pins and that they are CMOS and therefore static sensitive.

complementary metal-oxide semiconductor... ah, the mighty google knows all

my apologies for being lazy...

anyhow.. farnell are going to swap the sm ICs for the regular pin type... should get them for the weekend... Might have some prototype pics soon...

New aliminuim front bezel almost off the design sheet... will be drawn up in CAD this weekend, ready for cutting on CNC next week... hopefully, depends on what my wife has planned for me to do this weekend!!! ;)
