120mm Fan control
« on: August 31, 2003, 10:32:05 AM »

I am selling my YS Tech 120mm since it's too loud for me.  I found this in it's place.
1) http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/fan-33.html

2)http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/fan-43.html

for 1), will I get the same results with the DBA and the CFM if I took out the fan control option and replaced it with my HardCano Fanbus control? Or will it be different?

for 2) Since I want to make LED fan, will white paint still to the glossy mirrorlike Aluminum?

1) You'll likely find it will take a little tweaking but the performance and sound levels should be ok.  I'm not familiar with that HardCano fanbus, but they all work just about the same.  If the fan control you're talking about is that 3 level switch, you probably wouldn't have to take it out at all, just set it to max and let the Fanbus control it otherwise.

2) The fan looks cool as it is, but I suppose if you wanted to paint it you could use sandpaper to rough up the surface a bit (get rid of most of that glossy shine) and then try painting it.

Does anyone have the Enermax fan? They are saying it gives 30dba at 90cfm. Is that true? On some sites the pink one give 40dba. So I am not so sure.
