for light 10, it maybe because it's not reaching that level.

i dont think my dot mode is working properly. 2-3 leds will light up at a time when i control the lights by touching the audio plug, but when it is plugged in to an audio device it acts like bar mode except certain leds arent as bright

i don't have dot mode at all. it doesn't matter if i have connected pin 3 to pin 9 or not, it's always bar mode

make sure to take it off the other mode first.  like for example, if you want bar mode, connect pin 9 to pin 3.  for dot mode, connect pin 9 to pin 2, making sure it's not connected to pin 3.  On my circuit, I have a switch to toggle between modes.  So it's either 9 to 2, or 9 to 3 only.

so:
if i give ground to pin 9 i'll get dot mode and if i'll give +12V to pin 9 then i'll get bar mode?
i had also bar mode if i didn't connect anything to pin 9 (but led's weren't so bright, when pin9 wasn't connected with pin3)

Hi

The LEDs are not fully bright and I know the problem is definatly not the LEDs, any ideas how to fix this?

And when I put the tantalum 2.2uF 20v cap between the 12v and Ground the PSU automatically shuts off, because it detects a short circuit, what is the problem.

In the guide Jingoku says to use a tantalum cap but the picture look like a eletrolitic cap, could this be the prob, that I'm using a tantalum?

how do you limit the signal so that the max volume can be set... then there would be more rise and fall when the input is louder
