How do i jumpstart Power supply

hey, someone told me a little while back on how to start my power supply without the motherboard- i want to run some voltage tests on it before i plug it in, can anyone tell me again i think it was green wire and black wire :P dont wana make a mistake.

Here is a link to an article explaining it. I have not tried it so I do not know if it is correct.

ummm, why couldn't anyone just say that renverian was right and that it was the green wire and the black wire (any one of the black wires)...
